Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how RemoveZero at removezero.com collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects personal data when you visit the website or use image processing, accounts, Credits, payments, or the paid API (collectively, the “Service”).

RemoveZero is designed to collect only the information reasonably needed to provide, secure, support, and maintain the Service.

We do not sell, publish, or use submitted images or generated results for advertising, profiling, model training, model fine-tuning, model evaluation, algorithm development, or general product improvement.

This Notice should be read together with the Terms of Service.

The information you provide depends on the features you use. It may include an email address, password credential, optional name or company information, images submitted for processing, processing settings, support messages, and information needed to verify a privacy or account request.

Do not send passwords, full API keys, payment security codes, or other secrets in support or privacy messages.

When you create or use an account, we process information needed to register, authenticate, secure, and support it. This may include your email address, optional profile information, account identifier, email-verification and password-reset activity, consent timestamp, and the version of the Terms accepted at registration.

Password credentials are submitted to the authentication service and are not available to RemoveZero in readable form. Authentication and session services may also process login status, verification events, session information, and security signals needed to protect your account.

We may use your email address for verification codes, password recovery, account and security notices, required Service communications, and replies to support requests.

Before processing begins, file selection, validation, previewing, ordering, and removal take place in your browser. Selecting an image or adding it to a batch queue does not by itself send the image to RemoveZero.

Browser-based batch images are submitted through a bounded queue only after you start processing. Returned results remain in the browser for preview and download. RemoveZero does not provide a persistent image library, image storage account, or image backup.

Closing or refreshing the page, clearing browser data, or removing a local file may remove browser-held previews, queue state, or results. You are responsible for downloading and keeping any result you need.

When you start processing, the image is encoded and temporarily transmitted through RemoveZero’s protected Service and authorized image-processing infrastructure. This temporary transmission and in-memory handling are necessary to perform the requested background removal and return the result.

RemoveZero does not write source images or generated results to persistent account storage and does not retain them as an image collection after the processing workflow completes. Temporary operational handling may occur only for the time reasonably necessary to complete, secure, or troubleshoot the active request.

For paid API use, your application submits the image in the API request and receives the result in the API response. RemoveZero does not provide persistent storage for either payload.

Submitted images and results are not used for advertising, user profiling, model training, fine-tuning, model evaluation, algorithm development, or unrelated product improvement.

You retain the rights you have in images and other content you submit. Submitting an image does not transfer ownership to RemoveZero.

You are responsible for ensuring that you own, control, or are authorized to process each image. If an image contains another person’s likeness or personal data, you must provide any notice and obtain any consent or other authorization required by applicable law.

By submitting an image, you authorize RemoveZero to receive, temporarily transmit, process, and return it solely to provide, secure, and troubleshoot the requested Service.

If you fund Credits using a supported payment method, the applicable hosted checkout or payment processor handles the payment details needed to complete the transaction under its own privacy terms.

RemoveZero receives and maintains information reasonably necessary to record and reconcile the transaction. This may include an order or invoice reference, payment status, amount, currency, payment identifier, timestamps, and information included in a payment notification.

We maintain records of Credit balances, funding, Bonus Credits, usage deductions, failed-request adjustments, payment reversals, disputes, chargebacks, and verified account corrections. These records support account history, payment reconciliation, fraud prevention, dispute handling, accounting, and legal compliance.

RemoveZero does not ask you to submit complete payment credentials directly to us.

When an API key is created, we may store its name, display prefix, cryptographic hash, creation and revocation times, last-used time, and security or freeze status. The full key may be shown once at creation and is not retained in readable form by RemoveZero.

For paid API and batch processing, we may maintain account, request, and usage records such as an account or API-key reference, idempotency key, request hash, operation type, processing status, Credit amount, job reference, error code, and creation, completion, failure, or adjustment timestamps.

We use these records to authenticate requests, prevent duplicate processing, apply Credit rules, provide account history and support, investigate abuse, and maintain an accurate ledger. Ordinary usage records do not store the submitted source image or generated result.

RemoveZero and the infrastructure used to provide the Service may process IP addresses, network information, request timestamps, response status, browser or device information, error details, and security signals for origin checks, rate limiting, human verification, fraud and abuse prevention, reliability, and incident investigation.

We design the Service so that plaintext passwords, complete API keys, payment credentials, and internal service secrets are not placed in ordinary application logs.

RemoveZero may use cookies, browser local storage, and similar technologies to operate, secure, and remember choices within the Service.

Browser local storage may remember your selected language and limited session-activity information. Browser tools may temporarily hold selected files, previews, queue state, and results on your device.

Authentication, session continuity, security, fraud prevention, human verification, or reliability features may use short-lived cookies or similar technical storage where necessary for the Service to function.

You can clear or block cookies and browser storage through your browser or device settings. Doing so may reset preferences, sign you out, remove browser-held image work, or prevent parts of the Service from functioning correctly.

Third-party advertising uses cookies and similar technologies as described below. Advertising technologies that are not strictly necessary are subject to the consent and choice controls required by applicable law.

RemoveZero displays third-party advertising, including on pages that provide free access to the Service. Advertising partners may use cookies, local storage, pixels, tags, device identifiers, or similar technologies in your browser or device.

Advertising-related data may include an IP address, approximate location, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language, page URL, referring page, pages viewed, timestamps, ad impressions, clicks, and other advertising interactions.

Advertising partners may use this information to display contextual or personalized advertisements, limit repeated ads, measure performance, produce aggregated reports, and detect invalid traffic, fraud, or abuse. They may process information under their own privacy notices and user controls.

RemoveZero does not intentionally provide submitted images, generated results, passwords, complete API keys, authentication credentials, or payment-instrument details to advertising partners for advertising purposes. We do not use submitted images or results to personalize advertisements.

We provide the disclosures, consent controls, and opt-out methods required by applicable law for the advertising technologies used on the Service.

Personalized advertising may use browser, device, or prior activity information to infer interests or select advertisements. Contextual or non-personalized advertising is selected primarily from the current page or other limited context, but may still use limited identifiers for frequency control, measurement, security, or fraud prevention where permitted.

Where law requires consent before optional advertising cookies, device storage, identifiers, or personalized advertising are used, RemoveZero will request that consent before enabling them for those purposes.

Where available, advertising or cookie controls may allow you to accept, reject, or manage optional technologies. You may also use browser, operating-system, device, advertising-partner, or recognized industry opt-out controls. Opting out of personalized advertising may not prevent contextual advertising.

Some jurisdictions may treat disclosure of identifiers or technical information to advertising partners as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. Where those rights apply, we will provide the required opt-out method and process legally recognized privacy signals where required.

We use information described in this Notice to:

• Provide image processing, accounts, authentication, Credits, payments, API access, results, and requested Service features.
• Verify email addresses, maintain sessions, and support password and account recovery.
• Record transactions, allocate Credits, reconcile payments, and correct verified errors.
• Apply limits, prevent duplicate processing, detect fraud and abuse, and investigate security incidents.
• Respond to support and privacy requests and troubleshoot failed operations.
• Maintain reliability and analyze aggregated or de-identified operational information without using submitted images for general improvement.
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
• Display, measure, secure, and manage advertising as disclosed and permitted by law.

Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, we may rely on performance of a contract to provide the Service you request; legitimate interests such as security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, reliability, and limited operational measurement; compliance with legal obligations; and consent where we request it.

We do not rely on performance of a contract as the legal basis for targeted advertising. Where optional advertising, personalized advertising, cookies, or device storage require consent, consent will be requested and may be withdrawn for future processing.

We disclose information only as reasonably necessary to operate the Service, protect users, complete transactions, comply with law, or carry out the other purposes described in this Notice.

Provider categories may include account and authentication services; hosting, infrastructure, database, and content delivery; payment, checkout, fraud, and dispute processing; email delivery and account recovery; image processing; human verification, rate limiting, monitoring, and security; and analytics and advertising.

Providers receive the information reasonably necessary for their assigned function. Some payment, security, analytics, or advertising providers may process information under their own privacy notices and controls.

We may also disclose information to comply with law or legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or security incidents, or complete a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, with notice where practical.

RemoveZero and the services used to operate it may process personal data in countries other than the country where you live.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use an appropriate lawful mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, or another recognized safeguard.

Retention varies by data category. We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Notice, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.

Submitted images and generated results are not retained as persistent account content after processing. Browser-held files, previews, queue state, and results remain under your control on your device.

Account and authentication information is generally retained while an account is active and afterward only when needed for security, legal compliance, dispute handling, or other legitimate operational purposes.

Payment, Credit, ledger, transaction, dispute, chargeback, API-key metadata, usage, and security records may be retained after account closure where needed for reconciliation, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, credential security, legal obligations, or an outstanding matter.

Advertising cookies and identifiers may be controlled primarily by the applicable advertising partner and subject to that partner’s retention practices and controls.

To request account closure or deletion, contact support@removezero.com from the email address associated with your account. We may verify your identity before acting on the request.

After verification, we will delete or anonymize personal data we control where it is no longer required. We may retain information needed to comply with law, complete payment or accounting obligations, resolve disputes or chargebacks, investigate fraud or security incidents, preserve transaction integrity, prevent credential reuse, or establish or defend legal claims.

Account closure may disable sessions, API keys, paid access, and account features. Closing an account does not create a refund right or automatically erase records that must be retained for the purposes above.

Account deletion does not require deletion of an image library because RemoveZero does not maintain persistent customer source-image or result storage.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of personal data; request restriction of or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; opt out of covered sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; appeal a privacy-request decision; and lodge a complaint with a relevant authority.

To exercise a right or raise a privacy concern, contact support@removezero.com. We may request information necessary to verify your identity and authority and will respond within the period required by applicable law.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. Some optional features may work differently after an opt-out where they depend on the affected processing.

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the minimum age applicable in their jurisdiction or knowingly use a child’s personal data to personalize advertising. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal data. No transmission or storage system is completely secure, and you are responsible for protecting your password, secure session, API keys, and payment credentials.

We may update this Notice when the Service, data practices, advertising features, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised Notice and update the Last Updated date. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice, and we will request consent where law requires it for a new use.
